Durango, CO: The City of Durango and its contractors have begun milling and repaving Red Mountain Drive.
The project began on Tuesday, Sept. 5, and is scheduled to be completed by Friday, Sept. 22.
During construction no on-street parking will be available, but all driveways will be accessible to residential traffic and emergency service vehicles.
Construction crews will be working in the area with heavy equipment to pulverize the existing asphalt, recompact the road base, and place new asphalt.
There will be minor interruptions to traffic, but traffic control will be in place to provide guidance through the construction site. The contractor will notify residents in advance if access to driveways is to be blocked; all access will be restored the same day, no driveways will be blocked overnight. Construction noise is expected, and there may be periodic street closures with detours around the active construction area. Please obey construction signage to ensure safety of workers and the traveling public.
Construction hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The City appreciates the patience of businesses and citizens during this project to improve services for customers.
