Durango, CO: Residents can hear updates and provide feedback on the city’s sustainability efforts at a forum March 15.
Sustainability indicators, actions and priorities related to Durango’s Sustainability Plan will be presented from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Windom Room in the Durango Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave. Interactive workshops on renewable energy, building resilience in communities, waste reduction, and more will also be available.
“Participants can share their ideas and experiences, get sustainability updates and connect with individuals and organizations from around our community,” said Marty Pool, the city’s sustainability manager... Along with the in-person forum, community members are encouraged to complete a short survey to share their thoughts on sustainability priorities in Durango.
In support of the city of Durango’s commitment to environmental sustainability and resilience, the city’ s Sustainability Division provides analysis, coordination, and management of projects, programs, services, plans, and outreach efforts that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, preserve our natural environment, conserve resources, maintain Durango’s unique character, and improve the quality of life for present and future generations. The division provides technical support to city departments, tracks and reports on actions and indicators. In addition, it serves as the point of contact for the community on sustainability initiatives.
