Due to Extreme Fire Risk: Closure Order of City Open Space and Trails, Smoking and Fire Restrictions

The City of Durango City Council passed Emergency Ordinance 2018-13 on June 12, 2018. On June 13, 2018 the City Manager issued a closure of City open space and trails, smoking restrictions, and fire restrictions. Effective immediately:

  • all open space, natural lands, reservoirs, trails or other public lands owned, operated or managed by the City, except as specifically exempted, are closed for all purposes
  • all smoking is prohibited in or on all City owned, operated or managed property
  • all fires of any kind on public or private property within the City is prohibited
