Animas River Trail Bypass

Due to construction required for the Santa Rita Water Reclamation Facility (SRWRF), a temporary trail bypass is being installed for Animas River Trail (ART) users. This bypass will divert trail users away from a segment of trail located between the Animas River and the SRWRF.

The bypass is needed to allow for a pipe installation underneath the ART. The designated ART segment will be closed to trail access starting on Monday, October 23rd, weather permitting. The bypass will be available for use during this time.  The Whitewater Park will remain accessible to boaters via the crusher fines trail that runs parallel to the closed section of the ART.  The Santa Rita Park restrooms and pavilion area will remain open. The impacted Animas River Trail segment is scheduled to reopen in spring 2018.
