City Turf Fertilization and Weed Abatement

The City of Durango promotes Best Management Practices in the stewardship of City lands to ensure the safe enjoyment of parks in the community.  The City has contracted with Scott’s Pro-Lawn for turf fertilization and noxious weed abatement.  The herbicide that will be used is called Vessel Broadleaf Herbicide and Q4 Turf Herbicide.  Applications are conducted to improve the quality of the right-of-ways, parks and open spaces in the City’s system.  The weed control is repeatedly tested and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency.  Scott’s Pro-Lawn is licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

Spraying will commence on September 19, 2017 and continue through October 10, 2017. Dates are subject to change based on weather conditions.

Tuesday September 19, 2017 the following area will be sprayed: Buckley Park

Saturday September 23, 2017 the following areas will be sprayed: 3rd Avenue Parkway, Carnegie, Mason Center and Downtown Brown.

Tuesday September 26, 2017 the following areas will be sprayed: Crestview Park, Fassbinder Park, Viles Park, Roosa Park, Rotary Park and Chapman Hill.

Thursday September 28, 2017 the following areas will be sprayed: Hillcrest Park and Jenkins Ranch Park.

Saturday September 30, 2017 the following areas will be sprayed: Durango Community Recreation Center and Rank Park.

Tuesday October 3, 2017 the following areas will be sprayed:  Santa Rita Playground turf and Three Springs Confluence Park

Wednesday October 4, 2017 the following area will be sprayed:  Rio Vista Park and Memorial Park.

Thursday October 5, 2017 the following area will be sprayed: Animas City Park

Sunday October 8, 2017 the following area will be sprayed: Riverview Sports Complex

Tuesday October 10, 2017 the following area will be sprayed:  Greenmount Cemetery
