Adopted January 1, 2018

The purpose of building codes is to provide minimum construction standards to safeguard life, limb, health, property, and public welfare by providing minimum design and construction standards, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of all buildings and structures within the city limits of Durango.

Energy Codes

In December 2017, the City Council approved the adoption of the 2015 ICC Energy Codes. In order to provide the local construction industry with adequate time to prepare for the necessary changes, these codes went into affect on October 1st, 2018.
